Outpatient treatment

Detox, residential, PHP, IOP and outpatient care, all at Chandler.
The level of care
Outpatient treatment is the phase designed to help you step back into real life. It is where treatment and real life start to overlap: you stay engaged in therapy, groups, community and clinical support while you return to work, home, family and a new routine.
Not sure which level you need? It is not a question to guess at. A short call sorts it out: (888) 362-5576.
Therapy, groups, community and clinical support carry on while work, home, family and a new routine come back in around them.
Hours come down as responsibilities come back, so school, a job and the rest of your life gradually reenter rather than arriving all at once.
Many people pair this phase with a sober living home for structure, with the same autonomy and freedom. Placement help is part of the program.
Worth knowing
Going back is the point of this phase, not a risk to it. Schedules are built to grow with you, so work, school and the other responsibilities you have been away from come back gradually rather than all in one week. Tell admissions what your week needs to look like and they will work the timing out with you.
At home, if home is somewhere steady. Many people pair this phase with a sober living home for the added support and structure while keeping the same autonomy and freedom. Sober living placement assistance is part of what our case managers do, so raise it before you get to this phase rather than after.
Typically 45 to 90 days, and longer when that is what somebody needs. Taken end to end with detox, residential and the step-down phases, the continuum usually runs around 90 to 120 days. Your case manager reviews it with you as you go rather than holding you to a number fixed on day one.
Tell us. This is the phase where real life is back, which is exactly why it is the phase where it happens, and a program that only works when nothing goes wrong is not much of a program. The response is to adjust the level of care, not to end it, and every rung above this one is in the same building.

Yes. Outpatient treatment is the final phase of our continuum at Chandler, after medical detox, residential treatment, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient. Several outpatient programs run, so the level of support can be matched to where you actually are rather than to where the program assumes you should be.
Typically 45 to 90 days, sometimes more if that is what is needed. End to end, the full continuum from detox through outpatient usually runs around 90 to 120 days. The length is reviewed with your case manager as you go, not fixed in advance.
Yes, and that is largely the point of this phase. Schedules grow with you, allowing work, school and other responsibilities to gradually reenter your life while therapy, groups and clinical support continue around them.
Yes. Many people pair this phase with a sober living home for added support and structure while keeping the same autonomy and freedom. We do not run the housing ourselves, so the help is in knowing the local landscape and lining it up alongside the program.
Sometimes. If you are medically stable, have somewhere settled to live and a support system around you, it can be a reasonable starting point. If you are still drinking or using daily, medical detox is the safer first step and it is in the same building. A short call settles which is which.
Planning for it starts before it ends. Ongoing therapy, a primary care provider, psychiatric care where it applies and community support are arranged while there is still time to arrange them, so the week after your last session has appointments in it rather than a gap.
We answer at any hour of the day or night. There is nothing you have to decide on that first call, and nothing you need to have worked out before you make it.
