Private Pay and Self-Pay Rehab in Chandler, Arizona

Asking the price of treatment should not feel like pulling teeth. Here are the rates we work from, what they include, and how to find out what your own stay would actually come to.

  • A clear figure before you commit to anything
  • No insurance authorization deciding how long you stay
  • The same rooms, meals and clinical care as everyone else
  • Written confirmation of the cost before you arrive

Check your insurance first, even if you assume it is useless. Coverage is often better than people expect, and it takes a few minutes to find out. Private pay is worth considering once you know what your policy will and will not do.

Meals, room and clinical care are part of the rate, not extras.

The rates

What it costs, in plain numbers

These are the day rates we work from. Your own figure depends on the length of stay your assessment points to, and you will have it confirmed in writing before you commit to anything.

Medical detox

around $1,000 per day

A seven-day stay is common for alcohol, so roughly $7,000

Included in the rate

  • 24/7 nursing and physician oversight
  • Medication to manage withdrawal
  • Private room with en suite bathroom
  • All meals

Residential treatment

around $750 per day

A thirty-day stay works out at roughly $22,500

Included in the rate

  • Group therapy twice daily
  • One-to-one sessions with your therapist
  • Case management and discharge planning
  • Private room, all meals, and amenities

Doing both together costs less than the two added up. Most people move from detox straight into residential, and that is priced as one stay rather than two admissions. Ask for the combined figure on the call and you will get it.

Why people choose it

Paying directly buys more than a bed

Private pay is not only for people without insurance. A fair number of people who could claim choose not to, usually for one of the reasons alongside — most often because they would rather the length of their stay be decided clinically than by a utilization review.

It is worth checking your coverage first regardless. Knowing what your policy would do makes this an informed choice rather than a guess.

Your length of stay is a clinical decision

Nobody is negotiating an authorization in the background. How long you stay is worked out between you and your clinical team, based on what is actually helping.

Nothing goes through a claim

For anyone who would rather their treatment not appear in an insurance record, paying directly keeps it out of that system entirely.

It works when a plan does not

Out-of-network policies, high deductibles, plans that carve out behavioral health — private pay is a straightforward route around all of it.

You can start immediately

There is no waiting on a prior authorization to come back. When a bed is open and the figure is agreed, admission can happen the same day.

"Buena Vista was great for me. Comfortable, good groups, great staff. If I need to return I know they are there. And I'd recommend this place to anyone in need of recovery from addiction. Lolo at the front is always warm and welcoming, the nurses are caring and always there to help! Can't forget the BHTs always asking what they can do to help in whatever way they can."

"I cannot express enough gratitude for the support I received from Buena Vista Recovery. Katy went above and beyond in helping me navigate my court case and making pre-trial calls, ensuring I felt supported and informed every step of the way. Her dedication was truly remarkable. Mr Bacon and the entire staff played a pivotal role in changing my life for the better. Their compassion, understanding, and commitment to my recovery made all the difference. I highly recommend Buena Vista Recovery to anyone seeking help and transformation. Thank you all for everything!"

"So incredibly grateful for everyone that has been there for me throughout my recovery journey. I really miss residential lol. Not only were the staff there absolutely phenomenal and amazingly informed, but most really enjoyed what they were doing. The kitchen and food was five star most days. On top of all that, I got to have my own room and bathroom, queen size bed, vaulted ceilings, and flat screen tv. But, I am extremely grateful for the monthly Alumni events that we have. It's one of the highlights of my month every single time. Thank you Buena Vista. If I could give more stars, I so would."

"I'm so grateful for this place 💯!!! I learned so much about myself and got some great tools and the help I need. I'm out of inpatient but I'm still going there for services. I have all the love for the faculty and that place in general. They are amazing. Anyone that has anything bad to say about Buena Vista was either there for the wrong reasons or weren't ready. Thank you guys all the way around"

"I just want to say thank you to Buena Vista and the staff that work there. These people care. I can personally tell the difference between someone who just comes in for a paycheck and someone who has unconditional love and concern for every individual that they work with. From detox to out patient the staff go above and beyond to get their patients needs met! A special thanks to my case manager Katy for believing in me when I didn't even believe in myself. She met with me every day she worked and set me up for success! I'm on the next chapter of my life not only clean but finally happy. Thank you Katy!! And thank you Buena Vista. I recommend anybody needing help to at least check in for detox. Much love to you all"

Straight answers

Questions about paying directly

Is the price fixed?+

The day rates are the figures we work from, and your total depends on the length of stay your assessment points to. You will be given a clear figure in writing before you commit, so there is nothing to discover later.

What is included?+

Your room, all meals, the clinical program, medical supervision, and the amenities. Detox and residential are priced as day rates that cover the stay rather than itemizing the parts.

Is it cheaper to do detox and residential together?+

Yes. Moving from detox straight into residential is priced as a single continuous stay rather than two separate admissions, and that combined figure is lower than the two quoted individually. Ask for it on the call.

When do I pay?+

Arrangements are agreed before admission so nothing is uncertain on the day. Raise any constraints on timing during the call — payment schedules can often be worked with.

Should I check my insurance even if I plan to pay privately?+

It is worth the few minutes. Coverage often turns out better than expected, and knowing what your policy would do makes private pay a deliberate choice rather than a default.

Does paying privately get me different treatment?+

No — and that is deliberate. The rooms, the meals, the therapy and the clinical team are the same for everyone here regardless of how the stay is funded.

Can a family member pay on my behalf?+

Yes, and that is common. They can be part of the conversation about cost and arrangements, with your say-so.

What if I cannot afford the full stay?+

Say so early in the call. Length of stay, payment timing and other routes into treatment are all things worth talking through before you rule anything out — and if there is a better fit elsewhere in Arizona we will help you find it.

Start with one call. We'll take it from there.

We answer at any hour of the day or night. There is nothing you have to decide on that first call, and nothing you need to have worked out before you make it.
