Medical detox & residential treatment · Chandler, Arizona
A better view forward — in a place that treats you like a person, not a number. The phone is answered at any hour, including holidays.

Light, height, and somewhere to sit. Not an institution.
Wherever you're starting from
If you're the one struggling
You don't have to be at your lowest. You don't have to be certain. You don't even have to know what you want to say. You can call and just start talking, and we'll take it from there — no judgment, and nothing you have to decide today.
If you're calling for someone you love
You already know how it feels to watch someone disappear into this. You're tired, and you may be frightened, and both of those are allowed. Calling for someone else is an act of love, not a betrayal — and we'll walk you through every option there is.
Your own room
A private room with a private bathroom. You won't share, and you won't sleep on a ward.
Meals made daily
Catered by a dedicated culinary team, with a rotating menu and dietary needs accommodated.
Staff who've been there
Many of the people who will care for you are in recovery themselves. The empathy isn't training.
One team, start to finish
Detox, residential, PHP, IOP and outpatient care under one roof — around 90 to 120 days, with the same case manager from your first day.

Levels of Care
Every step is designed to meet you where you are and move you forward with purpose. Long-term treatment that works, in one place, from first contact through to the day real life takes over again.

Level of Care · 01
Safe, medically supervised withdrawal management for alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances. Our clinical team monitors you around the clock to manage symptoms, minimize discomfort, and prepare your body for the next stage of recovery.

Level of Care · 02
Structured, immersive residential care for adults seeking lasting recovery. Daily individual therapy, group sessions, psychoeducation, and clinical programming in a supportive, distraction-free environment with private rooms and meals prepared by a dedicated culinary team.

Level of Care · 03
The step down, in the same building with the same team. Partial hospitalization keeps the clinical day once living on site is no longer what you need; intensive outpatient brings the hours down again so treatment fits around a working week.

Level of Care · 04
Outpatient treatment is designed to help you step back into real life, where treatment and real life start to overlap. You stay engaged in therapy, groups, community and clinical support while you return to work, home, family and a new routine. Many people pair this phase with a sober living home for added support and structure, with the same autonomy and freedom.

Level of Care · 05
Recovery does not end at discharge. Your case manager works with you from early on to line up what follows treatment — continued care, sober living, and the support that keeps you steady once you are home.

What makes us different
Plenty of treatment centers say the right things. What our clients tell us they noticed was smaller and more ordinary than that — being remembered, being fed well, being spoken to like an adult on a hard day.
Your first conversation here is not an interrogation. We ask what's been happening and we listen to the answer — where you actually are right now, not the worst day you've had.
Licensed clinicians and medical staff are involved at every level of care. You are never a bed number — the person watching your progress knows who you are and what you are working through.
Addiction rarely shows up alone. When anxiety, depression, PTSD, or trauma are part of the picture, we treat all of it at the same time — because what's underneath is usually what pulls people back.
CBT, DBT, EMDR, motivational interviewing, and trauma therapy are part of daily care here — not a list on a brochure, but the work you do in the room, with someone trained to do it well.
If someone you love is in treatment with us, you are not on the outside of it. We bring families in on purpose — because the people who love someone through this carry a great deal of it themselves.
Mindfulness, fitness, life skills, and quiet time are part of the day, not extras. Recovery is about rebuilding a life worth staying sober for, and that takes more than clinical hours.
From your first day of detox through months of aftercare, you won't be handed between strangers. The people who start with you are the people who see it through.
People have bad days here, and change their minds, and want to leave. That is part of it. Nobody gets written off for having a hard week — we stay in it with you.
No script, no pressure, and no obligation to book anything. Ask what a day looks like, what it costs, or whether we are the right fit at all.
What we treat
Nursed detox, then residential
See treatment →Detox first, with medication
See treatment →Usually straight to residential
See treatment →Xanax, Klonopin, Ativan
See treatment →Addiction and mental health together
See treatment →Cannabis, prescription drugs, more than one thing at once
See everything →Treated alongside, not afterwards
Treating one without the other rarely holds, so both happen in the same program.
Having thoughts of suicide will not disqualify you from care, so say so when you call. If you need someone right now, call or text 988.
The People Behind Your Care
Putting your life — or your loved one's life — in someone else's hands is an enormous act of trust. Here's who's on the other side of that trust.

Getting Started
Admission often happens within 24 hours. The first step is almost always the hardest one — and it's just a phone call.
Step 01
That's genuinely all we're asking. Call (888) 362-5576 — anytime, day or night. The line is always open. You don't need to have the right words. You don't need to be certain. You just need to pick up the phone.
Step 02
While you're on the phone with us, we run an instant benefits check through our billing partner. No forms to fill out alone, no confusing back-and-forth. We find out what your plan covers and we tell you the truth — all of it.
Step 03
A licensed clinician does a full assessment — your history, your goals, what's actually going on beneath the surface. From there, we build a treatment plan around you specifically. Not a template. Not a standard protocol. You.
Not ready to call yet? That's okay too.
Submit the form above and we'll reach out — on your timeline, with zero pressure.

Real Questions, Real Answers
No talking points. No corporate non-answers. Just honest responses to the questions people are actually afraid to ask.
Yes — and we take that fear seriously. Medical detox is one of the most important things we do, and we don't rush it or minimize it. Dr. Heise and our nursing team monitor you continuously throughout withdrawal. You won't be alone in a room wondering if what you're feeling is normal. Someone will be checking on you, adjusting your protocol, and managing your comfort at every step. Withdrawal is hard — we're not going to lie to you about that — but you'll be safe, and you won't be going through it alone.
That's one of the most honest questions someone can ask, and it deserves an honest answer. A lot of programs treat the substance and ignore everything underneath it — the trauma, the anxiety, the patterns of thinking that were driving the use in the first place. We treat dual diagnosis as a core part of care, not an afterthought. We also don't discharge you and disappear. The aftercare support, alumni check-ins, and continuing care planning are built into what we do — because we know recovery doesn't end at discharge.
This is a voluntary program. You are not locked in. But here's what we've seen: the moment people want to leave is usually the moment the work is starting to do something. Our clinical team will always have an honest conversation with you about where you are, what's coming up, and what leaving at that stage might mean for your recovery. We won't hold you here against your will — but we will ask you to talk to us before you go.
No. Under HIPAA, your treatment is completely confidential — your employer has no right to that information and we don't share it. If you need to take time off, you may be eligible for FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act), which protects your job while you're in treatment without requiring you to disclose the specific reason. We've helped many people navigate this. Just bring it up when you call and we'll walk you through your options.
No. Full stop. One of our core values is seeing people clearly — not through the lens of their worst moments, but as who they actually are. The staff at Buena Vista didn't choose this field to judge anyone. They chose it because they believe in people's capacity to change. Whatever brought you here, you won't be made to feel ashamed of it. What happened before you walked through our doors stays where it belongs — in the past.
This might be the hardest position there is — loving someone who isn't ready yet. The first thing to know is that you are not helpless. You can call us and talk through intervention options, boundary-setting, and what to do when (not if) they become ready. We also want to remind you: taking care of yourself right now is not selfish. It's what allows you to still be there when they are ready. Call us — this conversation is for families too.
You're not going dark. Technology access is available every day from 4 PM to 10 PM — so you can call your kids, text your partner, check in with the things that matter. That intentional structure exists because the therapeutic day needs focus, not because we think you need to be punished or isolated. Most people find they actually appreciate the boundary after a few days — it turns out having hours where the world isn't pulling at you feels less like restriction and more like relief.
Call us before you assume the answer is no. We work with a range of plans and our billing team runs an instant verification while you're on the phone, then gives you a straight answer about what's covered. Network relationships change, so we'd rather check your specific plan than have you guess from a list. If there's a gap, we'll talk through it honestly — including cash pay options and what those look like. We'd rather have that conversation with you now than have cost be the reason you didn't get help.
We answer at any hour of the day or night. There is nothing you have to decide on that first call, and nothing you need to have worked out before you make it.
